Sensing Stress Distribution based on Electrical Impedance Tomography

"We develop a technology for sensing stress distribution during touch without mechanical constraint. The proposed system applies voltage between an object and human skin by sing several electrodes. Because the potential distribution changes according to the contact state of the two object, the contact state can be inversely estimated from the partial potential distribution. This technology can be used for sensing contact information between the human body and the object without mechanical constraint to analyze human action such as throwing an object."
